Phillip Toledano was born in London but lives and works in New York. Since 2006, he has been compiling a photo essay about his father and their relationship after the death of his mother.
Days With My Father shows the emotional experience of his father’s last years, a period when he had no short-term memory and was unable to remember the whereabouts of his wife. Instead of upsetting his father with news he would be unable to remember, he would tell him comforting stories about his mother such as her being in Paris.
Days With My Father was published this spring; to see more visit www.dayswithmyfather.com.
